"De"-word (common); verb gets -t ending in 3rd person singular.
opstaan	to get up	Ik sta elke dag om zeven uur op. I get up at seven o'clock every day.
Separable verb "opstaan": prefix "op" goes to clause end.
aankleden	to get dressed	Ik kleed mij snel aan. I get dressed quickly.
Separable verb: prefix "aan/uit" splits to end of main clause.
uitkleden	to undress	De kinderen kleden zich uit voor het bad. The children undress for the bath.
Reflexive "zich" = himself/herself/themselves; action on self.
poetsen	to brush / to clean	Ik poets mijn tanden na het eten. I brush my teeth after eating.
"Mijn" = my; possessive pronoun; no article needed with it.
kammen	to comb	Ik kam mijn haar elke ochtend. I comb my hair every morning.
"Elke" = every/each; used with singular nouns.
scheren	to shave	Hij scheert zich elke ochtend. He shaves every morning.
Reflexive "zich" = himself/herself/themselves; action on self.
de tandpasta	the toothpaste	We hebben nieuwe tandpasta nodig. We need new toothpaste.
Adjective before noun gets -e ending (except een + het-word).
de tandenborstel	the toothbrush	Ik gebruik een elektrische tandenborstel. I use an electric toothbrush.
"De"-word (common gender); adjectives get -e ending before it.
de zeep	the soap	Was je handen met zeep. Wash your hands with soap.
"Met" = with; for accompaniment or instrument.
de shampoo	the shampoo	Ik gebruik elke dag shampoo. I use shampoo every day.
"Elke" = every/each; used with singular nouns.
de föhn	the hair dryer	Ik droog mijn haar met de föhn. I dry my hair with the hair dryer.
"Met" = with; for accompaniment or instrument.
de crème	the cream / lotion	Ik smeer crème op mijn handen. I apply cream on my hands.
"Op" = on; preposition for surfaces and certain expressions.
de deodorant	the deodorant	Vergeet je deodorant niet. Don't forget your deodorant.
"Niet" negates verbs, adjectives, or definite nouns.
het bad	the bath	Ik neem een warm bad. I take a warm bath.
"Het"-word (neuter); adjective gets no -e with "een" + het-noun.
de wastafel	the sink / washbasin	De wastafel is vies. The sink is dirty.
"De"-word (common); "is" = 3rd person singular of "zijn" (to be).
de stofzuiger	the vacuum cleaner	Ik zuig het huis met de stofzuiger. I vacuum the house with the vacuum cleaner.
"Met" = with; for accompaniment or instrument.
stofzuigen	to vacuum	Ik stofzuig elke woensdag. I vacuum every Wednesday.
"Elke" = every/each; used with singular nouns.
dweilen	to mop	Ik dweil de keukenvloer. I mop the kitchen floor.

afwassen	to do the dishes	Kun jij vanavond afwassen? Can you do the dishes tonight?
Yes/no question: verb moves to first position (inversion).
