En el imperativo es más común 'hurry up' que 'hurry' solo; no es reflexivo en inglés. 'Will miss' es futuro con 'will' + infinitivo sin 'to'.

'Must' expresa una recomendación fuerte y va sin 'to'. 'Taste' también significa saber a: 'it tastes good'.

En inglés británico el pasado puede ser 'spilt' o 'spilled'. 'On the map' usa 'on' para la superficie.

'Put up' = montar; es un verbo con partícula. El pasado continuo 'were putting up' describe una acción en progreso.

El pasado de 'light' es irregular: 'lit'. Se usa con fuego y velas; para la luz eléctrica se dice 'turn on'.

'Smell of' + cosa = oler a. Con adjetivo va sin 'of': 'it smells good'. Pasado británico: 'smelt' o 'smelled'.

El inglés usa 'drop' con sujeto persona donde el español dice 'caérsele algo a alguien'. Imperativo negativo con 'don't'.

En inglés británico 'paddle' es andar por el agua poco profunda en la orilla. Pasado regular: 'paddled'.
to protectA2 To keep someone or something safe.	proteger	A hat protects your head from the sun. Un sombrero te protege la cabeza del sol.
'Protect from' usa 'from': proteger del sol. El inglés usa el posesivo 'your' donde el español dice 'la cabeza'.
scenicA2 With beautiful views of nature.	pintoresco	We took the scenic route along the coast. Fuimos por la ruta pintoresca de la costa.
'Take the scenic route' usa 'take' con rutas y caminos. El adjetivo va delante del sustantivo: 'scenic route'.
sandyA2 Covered with sand.	de arena; arenoso	The island has long sandy beaches. La isla tiene largas playas de arena.
Muchos adjetivos se forman con '-y': sand → sandy. El adjetivo no cambia en plural: 'sandy beaches'.
rockyA2 With many rocks.	rocoso	The path to the viewpoint is quite rocky. El camino al mirador es bastante rocoso.
'Quite' = bastante y va delante del adjetivo. Rock → rocky: la '-y' convierte el sustantivo en adjetivo.
stormyA2 With storms, strong wind and rain.	tormentoso	The sea is dangerous when the weather is stormy. El mar es peligroso cuando el tiempo está tormentoso.
Para el tiempo el inglés usa 'the weather is' + adjetivo, sin 'hacer'. Storm → stormy, con '-y'.

'Full of' = lleno de. Ojo: 'historic' = importante en la historia; 'historical' = relacionado con la historia.
shallowA2 Not deep; with little water.	poco profundo	Children can play where the water is shallow. Los niños pueden jugar donde el agua es poco profunda.
'Where' introduce el lugar: donde. 'Shallow' es lo contrario de 'deep'; en español no hay una sola palabra.
flatA2 Smooth, with no hills.	llano	The land near the coast is completely flat. El terreno cerca de la costa es completamente llano.
'Completely' + adjetivo = completamente. Ojo: en británico 'flat' también es el piso donde vives.

Taste → tasty: la 'e' final desaparece al añadir '-y'. Dos adjetivos se unen con 'and'.
freshA2 Made or picked a short time ago; not old.	fresco	You can buy fresh fruit at the morning market. Puedes comprar fruta fresca en el mercado de la mañana.
'Fresh' va delante del sustantivo. 'Fruit' es normalmente incontable: 'fruit', no 'fruits'.
spicyA2 With a strong hot taste, like chilli.	picante	Be careful, this sauce is really spicy! ¡Cuidado, esta salsa pica mucho!
El inglés usa 'be' + adjetivo: 'it is spicy', donde el español dice 'pica'. 'Really' = muy, de verdad.
saltyA2 With a lot of salt.	salado	The soup was too salty for me. La sopa estaba demasiado salada para mí.
'Too' + adjetivo indica un exceso: 'too salty'. 'For me' = para mí, con el pronombre objeto 'me', no 'I'.
freezingA2 Very, very cold.	helado (de frío)	The water in the lake was freezing! ¡El agua del lago estaba helada!
'Freezing' ya es extremo, más fuerte que 'cold'; por eso no se usa con 'very'. Viene del verbo 'freeze' (congelar).
mistyA2 With a thin cloud near the ground.	con niebla	The mountains were misty in the early morning. Las montañas estaban cubiertas de niebla por la mañana temprano.
Mist → misty, otro adjetivo con '-y'. 'In the early morning' = por la mañana temprano.
amazingA2 Very good and surprising. Sinónimos: wonderful	increíble	The view from the tower is amazing. Las vistas desde la torre son increíbles.
Los adjetivos en '-ing' describen la cosa: 'the view is amazing'; con '-ed' describen a la persona: 'I was amazed'.

outdoorsA2 Outside, not in a building. Sinónimos: outside	al aire libre	In summer we eat outdoors every evening. En verano cenamos al aire libre todas las tardes.
'Outdoors' es adverbio y va sin preposición: 'eat outdoors'. Como adjetivo se usa 'outdoor': 'outdoor pool'.
upstairsA2 On a higher floor of a building.	arriba (en un edificio)	Our room is upstairs, on the first floor. Nuestra habitación está arriba, en el primer piso.
